| Are your Walls Flat? It doesn't matter what your walls look like but it does matter that your walls are flat and square as undulations become more apparent once the tiling is complete. This preparation is crucial before tiling begins. Is your Surface Level? When tiling on to wood or floorboards, we generally fit a plywood base before tiling, using quality plywood, we will then screw the ply to the boards prior to tiling. Levelling compound can be poured over concrete floors where pits or holes have formed to improve the surface. The costs are subject to the type of materials used (e.g. ceramic, marble), the size of the area being tiled and the condition of the substrate.
